I have been involved in various musical projects over the years.
As a professional musician, I play at weddings and funerals, folk and celtic festivals,
parties, receptions and pubs - anyplace where people come together.
The Uilleann Pipes and the Irish traditional music I
play on them are life-long companions on my musical journey. The strong singing tradition
of my Austrian heritage, an early classical education on Violon Cello and in Voice, the use of other instruments such as Fiddle, Guitar,
Bouzouki, Schaeferpfeife (Austrian Bagpipes) and Tin Whistle, as well as being exposed to various European and American styles of traditional dance
music and songs has planted a seed in my heart, that is ever growing and prospering.
Currently I am studying Irish Traditional Music and Dance at the University of Limerick, Ireland. This also means that I am commuting between Austria and Ireland.
You can find a selection of recordings on my myspace sites Antonia Dusa MySpace
and Beyond the Pale MySpace
...also some videos can be found on youtube Mickey Dunne and Beyond the Pale or
Stephan "Stoney" Steiner and Beyond the Pale
Teaching and passing on an aural tradition is an important part in the role of any traditional musician.
My style of teaching involves helping the student to develop instrumental skills as well as embedding the learned into a greater musical and community context. Please
feel free to get in touch if you are interested in tuition or workshops.
